I believe there is two reason for the cause of the condition we found ourselves in right now. First, the down fall of quality in this fourm started when MT3 was introduce. I had a major issue with the rules of the forum was fashion after, it was becoming oppressive in the way that only certain topics can be discuss without closing for lack of depth of words or without petty argument and insult, so that pretty much kill all of the odd ball and political religious theme. Afterall the weird and the odd are what makes anything interesting We ended up with the most unharmful and nonthreatening topics like the "what ***** do you like? topics. The incentive to continue isn't that great.

Second, MT's management decided it was going to favor the artistic members only, because they wanted an artistic environment so naturally the forums are render useless except for those that discuss their latest wall techniques and ideas. It is their right and I don't blame them one bit, it is afterall what their goal was to begin with when they started this place. I accepted that fact and take my leave. So it is naturally that we aren't going to get any discussion, so people just move to other fourms. If you aren't an artist there really isn't any incentive to remain in MT. I guess a reward system can help as a ducktape kind of fix The way I look at it, as long there is people enjoying this forum, then it isn't ruin, we might not find the discussion here interesting, but someone is, and if they are entertain then what's there for us to complaint about. I guess that is what a wack out care free liberal would say

I am sorry shin that we couldn't finished that thesis paper project, so many of our friends have been MIA or just got fed up with the current environment and left. When mt want to turn into a practical place, a well organize company I should say, it lost its charm. I stay around to maintain some contacts with some friends, and that is it, I no longer have any aspiration or expecation to find anything interesting in the mt fourm. ACLU serves a purpose like it or not, it is matter of opinion not fact that decides wehther something is intorlerable and evil, our values dicates that. I don't particular agree with ACLU's agenda, but they do defend every form of freedom, like it or not, in a truly free society, you can't draw the line or pick which form of freedom you like the best, they should all be equal. The last time I check Campaign contribution such as cold hard cash is still consider a form of freedom of speech, I don't see anyone go on all throttle against that, corporation are influencing our politican with their money. If you want to draw a line in what's acceptable freedom and what's not, you need to limit all forms to make it equal and justice for all.

The simple answer to why this is newsworthy is the fact the media outlet in the US like the shock and awe effect, they aren't reporting the news, they are making the news. It is all about ratings, so it is a business first. Please don't blame the mods for the changes that have happened to MT. They were all instituted for very valid reasons. Yes MT2 had more of a free and at ease feel to it. Why because alot of people posted and contributed making some very good threads and some not so great ones. However over time the spammers began to show running rampant through the forums posting pure nonsense in an attempt to gain points onto their level. It was there way of trying to get to Level 10 as fast as possible which is why it is now seriously discouraged to post favorites or versus threads. They generally are free credits because they honestly don't require much thought into what to post. Which is another point I have to make. Credits just like with levels people have become obsessed to a degree with gaining more and more credits. Some not all members have even resorted to creating spam threads ie posting a thread that has no topic whatsoever or a duplicate thread. Some even go so far as to spam their own guestbooks. If MT feels like a business now well for that I am sorry but don't blame the mods and admins blame those few members that have ruined it for the rest of us by blatenly choosing to disregard the policies and rules that have been created.

I agree with Wermp regarding the foodchain and the priority of MT placing its benefit on. I see they begin to phase out the non artist in MT, they no longer reward thoughts to the degree as they did in the past, since we don't produce anything, they consider us expendable. I don't blame them for choosing to reward artist only, because they have a big leeching problem, but they should at least give the non artistan some remedy. I should have seen it coming, they were focusing on making MT a art management gathering club, that is why they make the change in the system. They want to stop leechers through a quota, my experience with quota is that they always suck. Quota means a face slap every time you don't do something. It is like going to the theaters, but you can't watch the main feature movie until you perform a part in the film to earn the right to continue watching the movie. Personally I don't download much, so it hasn't affected me to the degree as some of the others have, but I still feel bad for those that want to recieve the benefits of MT that isn't leeching happy.

Another trend is that this place lost its excitment when it thinks it should clean up the fourm and value system. They viewed everything in a corporate fashion now, by that i mean the strict policy in topics, some of the best topics in the old fourm back in MT2 was nonsensical and unreasonable, like favorites, or just plain stupid ideas. Now everything has to contrbute to an end or serve some higher purpose in dicussion for it to be worthy to stay in the fourm. The fourm's standard turn into an intellectual elite's dicussion only, which is a very sad thing.

The way I see it, terrorism is a tactic of psychological terror gear toward the cutlural structure of a state by inflicting large amount of deaths toward its population. We usually see it in conquering nation, the allied resistence in WWII in the German controlled countries are a form of terrorism. Well I had my college loans, I took a four year college, so that is ton of money there, and I doubt the things that I learn in a higher education setting is going to actually serve me in a real job Moreover, currently I had my law school loans for me to digest in the future I can smell the debt as we speak right now, I have to think of a way to pay them off before my retirement so I can enjoy the twilight of my years in peace.

Well I don't think Bush would push too hard for an extreme conservative judge to O'Connor's seat, Roe v. Wade isn't going to be overturn anytime soon like some of the conservative wanted. A morderate should replace a moderate seat, the shifting of balance of power would make a lot of people uncomfortable, so I think Bush would either pick a female or a person of color who is conservative enough to the seat, that way the Democract can't excatly challenge the nomination. One misconception that we should all remember, being conservative in the court isn't the same as in the political office, since they don't have to worry about election, so they can just choose their understanding of the law. Most consvertive are strict constructionist, so they don't like to make too many drastic change to the law. They had a chance to do some of those things back in the Burger court in the late 70s to the early 80s, but they didn't do it. Well one thing to consider is that some people don't have friends offline, they are a bit of loner, and people around them aren't the best people they could count on to help them. So they turn to online for help, it is a much safer way to share their problems behind a computer screen without anyone to judge you, plus I bet they see online community such as MT their family, so they put a lot of trust in it.
